Fordham Avenue - March 1921

Fordham Avenue - 1921

These photos are from March, 1921, and show Fordham Avenue from Pioneer Avenue to Stebbins Avenue as the roadway was being prepared to be paved for the first time. As with most streets in Brookline, Fordham Avenue would be paved using bricks. Most of the bricks are still there today, forming the roadbase and covered with asphalt. The photo above shows Fordham Avenue looking east from the corner of Pioneer Avenue.
