Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle - 1890
An 1890 scene along the Monongahela riverfront showing the offloading of cargo ships and steamboat passengers. The riverfront was a busy place in the 1800s. Much of the freight and passenger service was done through the trains or by boat. An interesting note is the wood planking along the riverfront that forms a solid platform for the passengers, dock workers and their goods.
