Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle - 1940
The Point in January of 1940. The world was slowly becoming engaged in the second World War. Poland had fallen and France would be invaded in only five months time. But, as the European continent shook with the cacophony of Hitler's artillery, life here in the Steel City went on as usual. The Lend/Lease Act had Pittsburgh's industry gearing up for America's eventual entry into the conflict and the effect on the local economy was stimulating.
