Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle - 1985
Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle in 1985 sports a remarkable new skyline. Most of the Renaissance II construction has been completed in downtown. The skyline now features four stunning new skyscrapers, Oxford Centre, Mellon Tower, PPG Place and Fifth Avenue Place. In addition, downtown transportation needs are now serviced by the Port Authority's new light rail system, which features a subway system under the Triangle. Although the city is suffering from the loss of the steel industry, Pittsburgh is moving forward with a focus on becoming a center of technology. To support this transformation, the city center is also sporting new infrastructure and a majestic new skyline.
