1956 Little League All-Stars

The crowd at 1956 City Semi-finals      Hilary Wertz scores a run for Brookline.

Brookline's 1956 Little League All-Stars won their first two games en route to the Pittsburgh City Semi-Finals, only to lose the third game to Duquesne Heights by the score of 4-1. The photo on the left shows the large crowd at the Brookline Community Center Field for the semi-final matchup. The photo on the right shows Brookline's Hilary Wertz crossing the plate with the home team's only run in the fourth inning. Wertz was driven home on a single by teammate Mike Sunner.
