Claims Unchallenged Title
AUGUST 9 - Men's Shop defeated
Resurrection A.A. 6-4 in a playoff game for the second half to win
undisputed claim to the Minor League championship. Men's Shop also won
the first half for a clean sweep of the season title.
Frank Sicilia drove in the winning
run and Scott Impell continued his heavy hitting with a double for the
champs. Mike Weigold paced the losers with a triple and a single. Scott
Griffin picked up the win, while Duke Lodge was tagged with the
loss.
Ed Motznik, Resurrection A.A.
manager, did a marvelous job in bringing his team from last place in the
first half to a tie for first place in the second half.
Boulevard Men's Shop, managed by
Pat Camarco and coached by Milt Griffin and Randy Nerone, consisted of
the following players: Chris Cicchitto, Ken Coury, Jim Dentel, Dom
DePasquale, Bill Feineigle, Bill Gallo, Scott Griffin, Eric Gritz, Mark
Heuer, Dave Hrydil, Scott Impell, Dave Loeffert, John Meyer, Bob Nerone,
Frank Sicilia and Jeff Schmude.

Men's Shop
1976 Regular Season Highlights
JUNE 15 - Volpatt Tile put on a
batting show and handed the Boulevard Men's Shop their third loss of the
season, 18-6. Dale Rusnak led the 12-hit attack with four doubles and a
single. Roll-A-Long Rohall had his first homerun along with a double,
while John Reese tripled, doubled and singled to help Bobby Avondo pick
up the win. Louie Fisher pitched the last three innings for Volpatt,
giving up only one hit while striking out six and walking four. Men's
Shop's Scott Griffin took the loss, striking out three and walking
seven. Of Men's Shop's four hits, Scott Impell had three, while Bill
Gallo had the other hit.
JUNE 18 - In the battle for first
place Boulevard Lounge was bested by the Boulevard Men's Shop by the
score of 15-8. Leading the hit parade for the winning Men's Shop were
Jeff Schmude and Scott Impell with four hits each. Jim (Denting) Dentel
pitched in with three hits and Chris Cicchitto with two. The winning
pitcher was Scott Griffin, but Dave (Hard Ball) Hrydil came in to save
the game by striking out five in two innings. Boulevard Lounge's Tortuato
homered with one on in the first to give the Lounge the early lead, but
Chuck Renk was unable to stop the boys from the Men's Shop. Tortuato also
doubled and singled, while Jim Ott picked up a triple and double. Bernie
Meyer got the only other hit for the Lounge.
JUNE 28 - Boulevard Men's Shop
continued on their winning ways by beating Boulevard Lounge 12-9. The
Lounge Nine were led by the hitting of Tortuato, a single and homerun,
Weigold, three singles, and Henninger, two singles. Bernie Meyer was the
losing pitcher, and Scott Griffin the winner. Lou Impell's bat spokle for
a double and triple.
JUNE 30 - Sport Center handed the
Boulevard Men's Shop it's first loss of the second half, 6-5. Mike
Garrubba singled in the sixth inning to drive in Donna Caterino with the
winning run. Donna also had two singles, while Tom Kanavy got the slab
win. For the Men's Shop, picking up the loss was Dave (Hard Ball) Hrydil.
Jim Dentel and Bill Gallo had two hits apiece for Men's
Shop.
JULY 6 - Boulevard Men's Shop
dropped Bob Smith Ford, 11-6. David Hrydil got the win, with Johnny
Meyers and Eric Gritz getting the key hits in a five run 4th inning. For
the losers, Mike Miller went 2-for-3 and Donnie Schmitt picked up the
loss.
JULY 9 - Resurrection picked up
its third win by downing Boulevard Men's Shop in a close game, 7-6. Jim
Motznik had three singles and drove in the winning run in the sixth
inning for Ressi. Dave Hrydil had a single and triple but still was
tagged for the pitching loss. Jim Dentel had two singles for the Men's
Shop.
JULY 14 - Men's Shop came through
with its third win by outscoring Boulevard Lounge, 6-2. Once again the
batting star for the Men's Shop was Jim Dentel with two doubles and a
single. Dave Hrydil threw no-hit ball for the last three innings. The
loss went to Bernie Meyer. Jim Ehland hit his first homerun of the year.
Jim also had a double, and Jim Ott picked up a double and
single.
Men's Shop put on a hitting show
to down Volpatt Tile, 19-5. Men's Shop batters picked up 15 hits. David
Hrydil led the way with two triples, a double and a single. Scott Griffin
got the win with help from Hrydil in relief. Dave gave up only one hit in
the last three innings. Chris Cicchitto also had two doubles and a single
for Men's Shop. For Volpatt, Lou Fisher was tagged with the loss,
although at the plate he did his part with three doubles in three
trips.

Minor League All-Star Series
After dropping the first game,
all-star players from Volpatt Tile, Sport Center and Bob Smith Ford came
back to defeat the all-stars from Men's Shop, Ressi and Boulevard Lounge
in the last two games to win the all-star series.
AUGUST 11 - The winners scored a
run in the last of the sixth to take the first game of the series by an
11-10 score. Charles McLaughlin, Chris Weigold and Mike Weigold all
picked up key hits to score seven runs in the 4th inning for the winners.
Larry Ott and Chris Chiccitto contributed to the victory with extra-base
hits. Jim Rohall, Lou Fisher and Mike Garrubba led the losers with two
hits each. Dave Hrydil was the winning pitcher and Bobby Avondo got the
loss.
AUGUST 12 - Donna Caterino
collected three hits and Paul Gum and Don Schmitt had two hits apiece to
give their team a 12-9 victory to even the all-star series. Mike Weigold
had two hits for the losers. The winning pitcher was Bobby Avondo and the
loss went to Scott Griffin.
AUGUST 13 - Jim Rohall sparkled in
the field and at the plate to lead his team to a 24-13 win. Jim banged
out four base hits and ended the game by starting a double play. Tim
Lannon hit two doubles and a single and Donna Caterino had two doubles to
also aid in the victory. The winners scored 14 runs in the third inning
to sew up the win. Jim Motznik had three hits for the losers and Chris
Cicchitto and Ross Torquato each had two, but they could not overcome the
large lead held by the opposition. Lou Fisher was the winning pitcher
while Scott Griffin suffered another loss.
