The 1962 Senior All-Stars from Brookline won their first five games enroute to the Western Pennsylvania championship. Brookline's best then travelled to Danville, Pa. for the State championship, losing to Lower Merion of Philadelphia, 4-1. As far as I can tell, this Brookline Senior team advanced further than any before or after (in their age group), finishing second best in the state of Pennsylvania.

Brookline Gains LL Semi-Finals

Brookline advanced to the semi-finals of the state Senior Little League championship tournament by defeating Waynesburg, 8-0, yesterday at Moore Park.

Billy Baumiller pitched a two-hitter for the victors, striking out 13 and giving up no walks.

Baumiller helped his cause with a triple which drove in the first run in the second inning and scored himself.

Brookline will meet either Williamsport or Natrona Heights in the semi-final round at 6pm Wednesday at Lower Burrell Field, New Kensington.

Note: Jackie Flavin, pitcher for the Brookline squad, was also a member of the 1958 Little League All-Stars that also finished as state runner-up, the best finish for a Brookline Little League team ever in the Williamsport Tournament.
