This collection of photos were taken to
document the completion of the Brookline Boulevard reconstruction
project, which took place in late-1935. During this renovation, the
boulevard was re-routed from
Pioneer Avenue to West Liberty, using the Pittsburgh Railways looping
right-of-way. Bodkin
Street, formerly the 100-400 block of Brookline Boulevard, was blocked off
at Pioneer,
while the Pioneer Avenue/Boulevard intersection was widened and
modernized.
