Brookline Community
Center Day Camp
July-August 1963
In the summer of 1963, the Brookline Junior Women's Civic Club, in cooperation with the Brookline Memorial Community Center Association, hosted the 4th annual Day Camp for the youth of the community. The camp began in July and ended in mid-August. Activities included science and nature films, nature walks, arts and crafts, and plenty of games. Special features included a Pet Day and a Police Safety Show. On August 6, there was a special exhibition of native Indian crafts and dances. The children wore special outfits and performed the dances that they had learned as part of a campfire song fest. Click on images for larger pictures |
