Brookline Park
Building the Swimming Pool
Phase three of the park development included the building of a new inground swimming pool. The new pool would not be as large as Moore Park's pool, but it would serve the residents of East Brookline in excellent fashion. The pool included a children's wading pool with a large Hippopotamus that squirted water from its nostrils like a fountain. Pool construction began in the summer of 1981 and was completed a year later in time for the 1982 Junefest. This is the completed
pool in the summer of 1998, sixteen years The wading pool was just right for the little ones. |
