AUGUST 6: On Saturday afternoon, the Brookline 14-Under Boy's All-Stars took
on a team of incoming freshmen from Ringgold High School. In a hard fought
game, the Ringgold squad beat the Brookline team, 83-69. Vince Gaultieri
dropped a game-high 32 points for the home team and Corey Bowersox added 18
of his own, but it was not enough to overcome the talented Ringgold crew.

This was the Brookline Stars first game, and for a younger and smaller team,
our local hoopers put on a fine show. Matt Noszka (7 points) at times dazzled
the crowd with his ball movement and Bowersox showed why he led the in-house
league in scoring with his strong inside game. The game ball, however, must
go to Gaultieri, whose dominance of the boards and consistent scoring kept
the Brookline team in contention until the final minutes.

Having played the season with the 17-Under League, the fourteen year-old
Gaultieri helped lead his Conditioned Air team to a second-place finish,
scoring 64 points in the playoffs with three twenty-plus point performances.
His 32 points today were a season high.
