As part of the Brookline Breeze Week celebration, the Brookline Recreation Center hosted its' 4th Annual Car Cruise on Friday, August 8, 2008. The event attracted over 40 vintage vehicles. Classic oldies filled the air and abundant sunshine put a glimmer to the finely buffed antiques.

While park-goers broused the lot, votes were cast for the People's Choice Award. Competition was tight, but when the votes were counted, Bob Greico's 1981 Baby Blue Buick held a 7-6 edge over a slick Yellow Barracuda.

When the sun began to set, the classic cars revved up their engines and hit the Brookline streets. The following morning, nearly 600 runners and walkers would hit the streets of Brookline in another classic, the 27th Annual Brookline Breeze 5K Run and Fitness Walk.
