The Brookline Recreation Center hosted a basketball clinic, August 2-4, sponsored by the Shandon Baptist Church of Columbia, South Carolina, in cooperation with the Pittsburgh Baptist Church, located on Pioneer Avenue in Brookline. This is the third year that our friends from down south have traveled northwards to treat our Brookline kids to a fun and instructional basketball camp. In addition to the basketball camp, a Community Family Festival was held on August 5. The lawn was full of friends and neighbors and the carnival atmosphere was alive. There was plenty of good food, lawn games and inflatables from Elf Entertainmant, along with some really nice prizes for the kids. Thanks to Pastor Kim of the Pittsburgh Baptist Church, Pastor Jerry Long of the Shandon Baptist Church and all of the wonderful volunteers who came to Brookline Park to give freely and unconditionally of their time and resources to help our kids.
