Resurrection Elementary
May Crowning - 1962
Resurrection School held its May Crowning in Our Lady of Fatima Court on the afternoon of May 29, 1962, conducted by Reverend Donald McIlvane. May Queen, Kathleen Collman, flanked on either side by Honor Guards, Patric Fagan and Richard Tofani, was attended by Maid of Honor, Margaret Neuser, and Attendants, Pamela Magidson and Deborah Moroney. Paul Lockard was master of ceremonies, while the Cross-Bearer was Thomas Renton, with Acolytes, Thomas Kennedy and Bruce Neeley. Nearly 2000 children stood in orderly lines according to grades, and joined their voices in praise of the heavenly Queen and Mother. The May Court attended the May Crowning ceremony held on May 13 in the courtyard of Resurrection Church. Reverend Walter Gleason, Maryknoll missionary, delivered the sermon "Mary, Queen of the Apostles." Benediction followed in the Church and probationary members were received into the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin, sponsors of the May Crowning.
