Steamboats and barges still dominate the Monangahela riverfront as Pittsburgh enters the 20th century. The old Point Bridge, the old covered Union Bridge (the last wooden bridge built in Pittsburgh) and Exposition Hall stand where Point State Park is today. Water Street, the Monongahela riverfront, Andrew Carnegie's Clinton Iron Works, the Point Bridge and Mount Washington, including the Duquesne Incline. |
