Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle - 1955

The Golden Triangle

Pittsburgh in the midst of Renaissance I. The Point has been cleared and the piers for the Fort Pitt Bridge are in place. All that remains is the blockhouse and the old Manchester and Point Bridges. The retaining walls along both rivers and the Mon wharf have been completed. The next step will be the actual park construction, the erection of the Fort Pitt and Fort Duquesne Bridges, the ramp connecting the two, and the connection ramps between the Fort Pitt bridge to the Penn-Lincoln Parkway (or Parkway East). Slowly but surely, Pittsburgh is moving forward with its modernization plans.
