Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle - 1957

The Golden Triangle
 1957

The Golden Triangle in 1957 shows one striking difference from the view from one year ago. Construction of the Fort Pitt Bridge is proceeding at a fast pace. The bridge span stands in sections over the Monongahela river. The center section is missing and the shore connections have yet to be built. Once the Fort Pitt Bridge and crosstown ramps are in place, construction can begin on Point State Park, including the dismantling of the unsightly Point Bridge.
