Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle - 1975
The Golden Triangle shortly after Mayor Pete Flaherty dedicated the new fountain at Point State Park. The Park, and particularly the signature fountain signified the beginning of a new era in the image of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The grand efforts, planned in the 1930s and enacted beginning in the 1950s, included landmark clean air laws and a complete makeover of the city landscape. The day Mayor Flaherty turned on the spigot and the gleaming fountain burst skyward, Pittsburgh's rebirth was complete. |
