Harley's Express Moving & General Hauling - 1915

William J. Harvey Express Moving and Hauling - 1914

The home, family and employees of George T. Harley, at 132 Brookline Boulevard (now Bodkin Street), and his business, Wm. J. Harley Express Moving & General Hauling, located next door.

The Harley's Express business, founded by William J. Harvey of Lawrenceville, had been around for several years prior to the opening of the Brookline location in 1913. The hauling company remained active into the 1920s, while the Harley family lived in the adjacent home until the late-1930s.

In the 1940s, the home, barn and attached one-story stucco office building were sold to Fred Breauninger, who started the South Hills Sewing Machine Company, which operated into the late-1950s.

The home and frame barn are no longer standing, but the white stucco office building is still there, at 165 Brookline Boulevard.
