THE BROOKLINE HALLOWEEN PARADE
October 25, 2014
The annual Brookline Halloween Parade was held on Saturday, October 25, 2014. Parents and their children gathered at the Veteran's Memorial at Queensboro Avenue at 2:00pm to take part in some good, clean trick or treatin' fun.
The large crowd of parade-goers included well over 100 kids dressed up in their halloween costumes. There were ghosts and goblins, pirates and stormtroopers, princes and princesses, super heroes and Super Marios, ninjas and turtles, bugs and bees, and a wide assortment of other cool outfits adorning Brookline's younger generation. There were also a few adults in the crowd looking rather devilish.
When the parade started, the procession worked its way up one side of the boulevard and then back down the other until everyone reached Mazza Pavilion. There, the kids were given some halloween treats and awards were presented for the best costumes.
One of the winners was the young lady shown above, who charmed the crowd and judges with her "Will Work For Candy" theme. For her hard work on originality and creativity she was awarded a gift certificate to help satisfy that sweet tooth.
Thanks to event sponsors Community Bank and the Brookline Chamber of Commerce, to the many dedicated volunteers, and especially to all of the neighborhood parents and kids who came out to help celebrate Halloween in Brookline.
