Melman's Super Market was a
mainstay on Brookline Boulevard for sixty years. The store was owned
by Morris Melman. It opened in 1928 at 924 Brookline Boulevard, then
carrying the label Triangle Grocers.

In June of 1954 the store
had a grand-reopening after an extensive remodeling effort.
The modern market contained many of the latest conveniences
and offered a variety of meats, fruits and other grocery
items.
This was a time in Brookline
when small markets like Melman's were the best place to do your
shopping. Brookline Boulevard had several markets and specialty
stores along the length of the commercial district.
These stores
were within walking distance of most consumers, and for those who
could make the trip, delivery service was offered. Melman's Market
closed its doors in the late-1980s.
