The 1963 Brookline Senior League All-Stars made an impressive showing in the official Williamsport Tournament, advancing all the way to the Western Pennsylvania finals at Lower Burrell Stadium in New Kensington before bowing out. Brookline, whose 1962 Senior All-Stars had finished as state runner-up the previous year, was looking for another trip to Danville, Pa., but they had to settle for a spot in the final four.
Below are a couple of articles that chronicle the team's run to the District 4 championship and a trip to the regional finals. At this time we do not know the results of the last post-season game, other than Brookline finished Western Pennsylvania runner-up.
Brennfleck, Daurora and Kohut Team Up To Win All-Star Game
Pat Brennfleck pitched a three-hitter as Brookline's Senior Little League All-Stars eliminated Bon-Air Knoxville. 6-1, in a Section 4 tournament game at Moore Field.
The game was halted because of rain with Brookline leading, 3-0, on Friday night, and it was completed Sunday morning.
Jack Daurora and Steve Kohut, co-leaders in homeruns in the Brookline Senior League, each with 10, sparked the offense against Bon-Air Knoxville. Both boys had two hits, with Kohut driving in three runs.
Tommy Abraham and Jack Pusateri smacked doubles for Brookline. Lou DePhillips and Jody Kesich had the other hits.
Brookline was scheduled to oppose Richland Township in second-round play at Moore Field last night (Wednesday).

Senior League All-Stars Set Eyes On State Championship
Brookline's Senior Little League All-Stars are only two games from the state championship they came so close to winning last year.
Tonight (Thursday) Manager Jerry Armento's Brookline boys will clash at Lower Burrell Stadium, near New Kensington, for the Western Regional championship. If they hurdle that test they will battle the Eastern Regional champion for the state crown at Danville on August 5. Lower Merion (Philadelphia) defeated Brookline, 4-1, in the state final last year.
Brookline advanced to the Western final by eliminating Bon-Air Knoxville, 6-1; Richland Township, 12-2; Somerset, 14-4, and French Creek Americans, 11-5. Pat Brennfleck, fireballing righthander, and Jackie Pusateri, curveball specialist, have registered two pitching victories each in all-star competition.
Lou DePhillips, Pusateri, Jack Daurora, Tom Abraham and Pat Fagan were the batting stars in the 12-2 rout of Richland Township at Moore Field on Wednesday night, July 24. Pusateri was the winning pitcher on a five-hitter.
The Brookline All-Stars concluded a week-end invasion of Somerset with a convincing homerun barrage to reach the Western Regional Final.
Brennfleck's blazing fastball set down Somerset Friday, July 26, as Steve Kohut spurred Brookline's assault with two homeruns, one a grand slam. Kohut also singled as he drove in five runs. Pusateri, Abraham and DePhillips also homered.
On Saturday, July 27, Fagan sparked Brookline with four hits, including the first homerun of his career, and four runs batted in. Daurora, Kohut and Pusateri also planted homers in the corn field surrounding Gibbs Stadium. Pusateri fanned nine French Creek All-Stars.
Brookline batting leaders through four games are: Pat Fagan (13-8, .615, HR); Steve Kohut (15-7, .467, 3HR); Jack Daurora (15-7, .467, HR); Lou DePhillips (15-7, .467, HR); Tom Abraham (13-6, .462, HR); Jack Pusateri (16-6, .375, 2HR); Nick Perella (9-3, .333); Pat Brennfleck (6-2, .333).
