Brookline Elementary School
May 1, 1972
On May 1, 1972 the pupils of Brookline School received a beautiful Hawthorn tree as a gift from the Pittsburgh Men's Garden Club. On that afternoon one representative pupil from each of the classes took time out from busy school work to join together on the front lawn to express their appreciation as John McLaughlin and Louis Steiner, club representatives, supervised the planting.
This worthy project of tree planting is being conducted at a number of the local schools with the intention of heightening children's interest in the beauty of nature and in the world of lovely things.
