Brookline got a fine run from Mark Jameson but were unable to
capitalize on the good field position.
Another long Tiger touchdown run increased the Moon advantage
to 21-0 early in the second half. The Knights got on the board
in the third quarter when Kaden "Budda" Wysong scampered fifty
yards for six points. Max Marzina added the final point with a

9-UNDER JV GAME (exhibition game)
BROOKLINE 19 - Moon 12
Maurice Trent 40 run (conversion failed)
Mario Grannison 30 run (Maurice Trent run)
Malique Lewis-Brown 70 run (conversion failed)

the score of 19-12. Maurice Trent scored on runs of forty and
sixty yards, and quarterback Mario Grannison bootlegged for a
thirty yard touchdown run. Grannison also completed a nice
twenty yard pass to Steven Mescan.
On defense, Dimajio Locante once again played a great game,
registering six bone-crunching tackles on Moon runners. The
Brookline Junior Nines evened their season record at 1-1.
WEEK #2 - September 6, 2014 @ Danny McGibbeny Field
9-UNDER
BROOKLINE 32 - Moon 0
Scoring Summary:
Keshawn Harris 70 run (Keshawn Harris run)
A'Mirre Brown 40 run (conversion failed)
Keshawn Harris 45 run (Racari El run)
Will Coleman 55 run (conversion failed)
Keshawn Harris 33 run (conversion failed)
NOTES: Coach Jason and the nine-year old varsity Knights won
their second shutout victory in two games with a 32-0 drubbing
of Moon. Keshawn Harris once again led the offense with another
three-touchdown performance. A'Mirre Brown and Will Coleman
also recorded long scoring runs as the Knights took charge of
the game and tamed the Tigers.
On defense the Knights were awesome, holding Moon to only three
first downs. Amiri Colbert-Anderson and Quinnie Walker led the
way, each recording four fine tackles. Linebackers Anthony
Herisko and A'Mirre Brown both had outstanding efforts.
These young Knights are emerging as a force to be reckoned with
among the PYFL contenders. If they continue to play hard and
show steady improvement, they have a good chance at becoming
one of the best in the 9-Under ranks. Keep up the good work!

11-UNDER
BROOKLINE 26 - Moon 0
Scoring Summary:
Raeshawn Caldwell 48 run (conversion failed)
Raeshawn Caldwell 5 run (conversion failed)
Raeshawn Caldwell 8 run (conversion failed)
Raeshawn Caldwell 68 run (Visawn Pennix run)
Fumble Recovery: Jamyle Liebro, Antwain Carter
Raeshawn Caldwell
NOTES: The 11-Under Knights made it two in a row with a 26-0
thumping of the Moon Tigers. Led by Raeshawn Caldwell's three
first quarter scoring runs, the Knights built an 18-0 halftime
lead. Caldwell put the icing on the cake with a third quarter
touchdown, his fourth of the game.
Moon took the opening kickoff and promptly fumbled the ball.
Alexander Jones stripped the pigskin from the Moon runner and
Jamyle Liebro recovered for the Knights. Caldwell wasted no
time making it 6-0 Brookline with his first long endzone dash.
Moon's opening offensive series ended on their third play from
scrimmage when Antwan Peterson intercepted a pass and returned
the ball to the Tiger four. Caldwell increased the Knight
advantage to 12-0 with a short scamper around the left side.
As the first quarter drew to a close, a bad snap on a Tiger
punt gave Brookline good field position at the Moon twenty.
The period ended with Caldwell scoring his third touchdown on
an eight yard run.
The Knights kept the pressure on the Tigers in the second
quarter. An Antwain Carter fumble recovery and a blocked punt
by Visawn Pennix gave the Knights great opportunities, but the
Tiger defense stiffened and held the Brookline attack at bay.
The second half began with Caldwell putting another six points
on the board with a sixty-eight yard run. Pennix finished off
the scoring by sprinting to the pylon for the conversion.
Later in the game, a pair of Tiger runners broke free for long
runs. Peterson and Mekhi Gay both made touchdown saving tackles
to end those threats and help preserve the Brookline shutout.
Moon managed to penetrate the red zone one final time in the
fourth quarter, only to fumble the ball away inside the ten.
The loose ball was recovered by Caldwell. Raeshawn played an
outstanding game on both sides of the scrimmage line.
In the final minute of the fourth quarter, Pennix burst through
the line and ran eighty yards for another Brookline touchdown,
only to have the long run negated by a penalty.
The Knights defense was awesome at containing the Moon attack.
Liebro, Pennix, Carter, Caldwell, Gay and Asahn Bey-Davis all
had several bruising tackles to their credit. Pennix registered
two sacks and Caldwell added a third. It was an excellent game
all around for the boys in Green and Black. Go Knights!
