During the late 1950s the Brookline Chamber of Commerce sponsored a festival called Old Fashioned Bargain Days, where residents could find retro-pricing at many boulevard shops. The festival was not only a celebration of low pricing, but also included a parade, period costumes, antique cars and trucks, a carnival and an Independence Day celebration at Moore Park.

One of the highlights of the big day at Moore was an all-star baseball exhibition featuring the best players from the Brookline Chamber of Commerce Little League Association. On July 4, 1959, the Brookline Little Leaguers pictured above thrilled the festival crowd as they battled to a 5-5 tie.
