On Saturday, December 13, 2014, the
Brookline Recreation Center hosted its 10th annual Lunch With Santa. The
special event was co-sponsored by Citiparks, Fox Pizza and the North Pole
Express. Guests were treated to lunch, then the kids visited the Arts in the
Parks craft table to make their own personalized reindeer masks. They
were soon joined by our special guests, Santa Claus and his favorite
companion, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
After mingling with their young friends,
Santa and Rudolph sat with each child and presented a wrapped gift. There were
plenty of happy faces, and quite a few special requests for Christmas Eve. One
child even reminded Santa to wear his seatbelt during his journey so that he
would arrive safely at the child's home with a bag-full of presents for himself
and his family. Leave it to a kid to tell it like it is!
After spending an hour with the
Brookline kids, Santa and Rudolph were off to their next engagement. Before
leaving, they presented a bag of chocolate Christmas molds to be handed out
to each kid, made by Mrs. Claus herself.
The Brookline Recreation Center thanks
the many volunteers that helped to make this a special day for the little ones
of our community. Special thanks go out to Santa Claus and Rudolph, who always
find time in their busy schedule for a visit to Brookline Park.
