	BROOKLINE 12 - Chartiers Valley 8

	Scoring Summary:

Antwain Carter 50 run (conversion failed)
Nicholas Ault 6 pass from Grant Hamilton (time expired)

NOTES: Brookline's youngest Knights put on another exciting
show for the hometown crowd. The performance was highlighted
by gritty play and last-second heroics. It was fan-tastic.
Antwain Carter scored the first touchdown
on the last play of the first half.
The first half was played to a standstill. As the clock ticked
off the last seconds to halftime, the Knights hurried to the
mid-field line for one final play. Antwain Carter broke loose
for a fifty yard touchdown run to put the Knights ahead 6-0.

The Colts took the lead midway through the second half after
a long, sustained drive. The game clock again began the final
countdown. Brookline regained possession. It was crunch time.
Nicholas Ault hauls in the winning
touchdown on the game's final play.
Carter started the Knights charge with a nice run. Quarterback
Grant Hamilton then connected with Nicholas Ault to propel the
ball forward to the Colt six-yard line. Timeout!

With twenty-two ticks remaining on the clock and time for one
final play, Hamilton dropped back and launched another perfect
toss into the arms of Ault for the game-winning touchdown.
	It was fan-tastic!
Nicholas Ault and Grant Hamilton
connected for the walk-off TD.

	WEEK #4 - September 18, 2010

	8-UNDER

	Chartiers Valley 16 - BROOKLINE 14

	Scoring Summary:

Marques Watson 36 run (conversion failed)
Nick Roell 1 run (Jayden Payne pass from Nick Roell)

Fumble Recovery: Marques Watson (2), Brenton Morefield
Players and cheerleaders get ready
for the opening introductions.
	NOTES: Brookline's eight-year olds lost another heart-breaker,
this time to the Chartiers Valley Colts, 16-14. Despite the
consecutive losses, the kids again played good football, both
on offense and defense. They could easily be a 3-0 team. This
really is a game of inches. It's time to find them.
Quarterback Nick Roell airs it out.
The offense, led by Nick Roell, moved the ball well. Marques
Watson and Brenton Morefield both ground out nice yardage. The
crafty Roell kept the Colts guessing with the passing attack.
Defensively, the Knights played hard. Two first half takeaways
by Watson held the Colts at bay. Unfortunately, one stray got
away. Chartiers Valley went into the half with an 8-0 lead.
Nick Roell scores a touchdown in the fourth
quarter to put the Knights ahead 12-8.
The Knights opened the second half with a nice drive. Two long
runs by Morefield set up a thirty-six yard touchdown burst by
Watson to close the gap to 8-6. A strong defensive series put
the ball back in Roell's hands to begin the fourth quarter.

A fifty yard reception by Jayden Payne put the Knights deep in
Chartiers Valley territory. Roell led the Knights through the
redzone, capping off Brookline's second scoring drive with a
one-yard sneak. A two-point toss to Payne made the score 14-8.
Jayden Payne scored the Knights final
two points on a good conversion catch.
Payne had five receptions on the day.
The Colts answered with a quick drive and a six yard touchdown
run to tie the game. A good conversion put them on top, 16-14.
Another long reception late in the game by Payne was called
back on a penalty. During the final three minutes, three solo
tackles by Keyshawn Palmer prevented another Colt score.

Although their record stands at 1-2, the little Knights are
showing a lot of potential. Eliminate the mistakes and they
could turn this around. It can be done, one inch at a time.

	WEEK #4 - September 18, 2010

	9-UNDER

	BROOKLINE 2 - Chartiers Valley 0

	Scoring Summary:

SAFETY - Rooznee Palmer tackled runner in endzone

	Fumble Recovery: Rooznee Palmer (2)
The girls helped cheer their team to victory.
NOTES: Brookline's nine-year olds have had a difficult time so
far this season. Two stinging losses left them feeling bullied
and battered. Two minutes into their third game, the Knights
decided enough was enough and began pushing back. The backyard
brawl that ensued may not have been pretty, but the end result
	was a hard-earned 2-0 win.

The game started off like another one of those strange days.
The Knight offense went nowhere on their first possession. The
Colts opening drive began with a fifty-eight yard reverse that
put the ball on the Knights two-yard line. A saving tackle by
Nathan Ault kept the ball in play. It was worth the effort.
Kevin Schwerin and the defense got tough, pushing the Colts
back five yards in four plays with a classic goal line stand.
Cole McMullan had a good day rushing.
Buoyed by their success, the Knights began trading blows with
the Colts. When the offense took a hit, the defense countered
with a jab of their own. Soon the offense joined in the fray.
Some nice running by Cole McMullan got Brookline moving
	forward instead of backwards.

The game was scoreless at the half. The tug-of-war continued
through the third quarter and into the fourth. With seven
minutes to go the Knights gained an advantage. Punter Bobby
Bradley launched a forty-yard beauty that put the Colts back
at their twenty yard line. A fumble recovery on the next play
by Rooznee Palmer gave the Knights great field position.
One coach says yes and the other says
no. The referee must decide. The answer
was no. The Knights offense was stopped
just one inch short of the goal line.
The Knights slugged their way to the fourteen and stalled.
Palmer forced another takeaway, giving Brookline a second
chance from the Colt ten. McMullan and Ault moved the stick
forward to the one yard line. On fourth-and-one, McMullan was
stopped only inches from the endzone. It is a game of inches.
The defense took charge in the final minute
and pushed the Colts back into the endzone
for a safety. The two points were enough to
secure the Knights first win of the season.
With one minute on the clock, Chartiers Valley took over. On
the first play, the defensive line surged forward, pushing the
Colts back. The ball carrier ran into a wall, where Rooznee
Palmer was waiting to drop him inches behind the line for a
safety. The two points earned were enough to secure a victory.

It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win, and an inch is an inch.

	WEEK #4 - September 18, 2010

	10-UNDER

	BROOKLINE 20 - Chartiers Valley 6

	Scoring Summary:

Brent Ivory 33 run (Darryl Daniels pass from Brent Ivory)
Darryl Daniels 55 run (conversion failed)
Lamar Lewis 1 run (conversion failed)

Fumble Recovery: Bobby Goodnight, Lamar Lewis

NOTES: Coach Joe's ten-year old Knights remain undefeated in
three games following a 20-6 victory over Chartiers Valley.
After getting off to a rocky start, Brookline regained their
composure and put on another impressive display of running,
	passing and strong defense.
The view from the other side.
The Knights first quarter was marked by fumbles, bad tackling
and general disarray. While Brookline stumbled about, the
Colts charged off to a 6-0 lead. A Bobby Goodnight takeaway
four minutes into the second period sparked a resurgence.

A fourteen yard burst by Darryl Daniels was followed by a
thirty-three yard touchdown run by Brent Ivory. A successful
two-point toss from Ivory to Daniels put Brookline on top 8-6.
Halftime.
On the Knights first possession of the second half, Daniels
found the endzone again with a fifty-four yard scoring run to
increase the lead to 14-6. Brookline threatened to score twice
more with drives that ended deep in Colt territory.
Lamar Lewis scores a fourth quarter touchdown.
The final blow began with three minutes remaining in the game.
A forty-three yard punt return by Quran Powe positioned the
ball at the Colt four. From there, Lamar Lewis punched his way
into the endzone to lock in the final score.

	WEEK #4 - September 18, 2010

	11-UNDER

	Chartiers Valley 22 - BROOKLINE 0

	Fumble Recovery: Richard Jetter
The Knights need a boost of adrenaline.
NOTES: The eleven-year old Knights struggled for the third
week in a row with a 22-0 loss to the Chartiers Valley Colts.
The offense again sputtered. Two nice runs by Anthony Johnson
were squandered by lack of support. The defense again had
	trouble containing the opposition.
The offense spent most of the
day under a pile of Colts.
Chartiers Valley scored once in the first half. A second
drive was stopped in the Knight redzone by a Richard Jetter
fumble recovery. The second half saw the Colts score twice
more while Brookline's attack withered away.

	WEEK #4 - September 18, 2010

The Arsenal of Destruction
NOTES: Some volcanoes like to simmer, spewing rivers of lava
to the delight of spectators. Others blow their corks and send
plumes of ash into the atmosphere, causing panic and concern.
The worst type create catastrophic events, like the infamous
Mount Krakatau eruption, that generate widespread disaster,
threatening the very existence of humankind.
Michael Roper puts the crunch on a Colt.
If a volcanic eruption can have an equivalent in the game of
football, then it is safe to say that for a span of fifteen
monumental minutes, the spectators at Brookline Park witnessed
an episode that rivals the most forceful of earthly wonders.

The Mighty Knights treated the crowd to a breathtaking view
of large-scale destruction. From the opening kickoff until
midway through the second quarter, the Knights put on a most
vivid spectacle of shock and awe.
Adam Ottaviano scores his second touchdown
on a thirty yard interception return.
Like a shower of ash and debris, the wrath of Coach Donnie's
Knights rained down upon the Brentwood Dukes with cataclysmic
results. Brookline scored forty-six points in the first ten
minutes alone. By halftime the score had risen to 58-0.

Offensively and defensively, Brookline destroyed the Dukes.
Brentwood didn't know what hit them. It was over in a flash.
Jonas was a one-man wrecking crew.
As with all volcanoes, it's not necessarily the ash or lava
that cause the most deadly effects. It's the pyroclastic flow.
On this day, that lethal mass of volcanic gas and rock went by
the name of Adam Ottaviano, or "Jonas" in code. Jonas was a
one-man wrecking crew, with three touchdowns, three takeaways,
and several tackles. He left a trail of tears in his wake.

How good is this team? We'll see next week when the Knights
take on the North Hills Chiefs. Volcanology is not an exact
science. It is difficult to predict another episode. Just to
be safe, FEMA has been put on alert in the North Hills area
and the Pennsylvania National Guard is now on standby.
Just Another Day At The Office.
